Savory Sambal French Toast
SERVES TIME
1 portion 10 min
INGREDIENTS
- 2 slices of thick-cut bread (brioche, challah, or sourdough work well!)
- 2 large eggs
- ½ cup whole milk
- 1 tsp soy sauce
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Butter, to grease the pan
- Homiah Sambal Chili Crunch, to taste
- Maple syrup or honey, to taste
METHOD
- For a batter morning, make french toast. In a shallow bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, soy sauce, and black pepper.
- Then, heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Dip each slice of bread into the egg batter, ensuring it is thoroughly coated before placing the soaked bread to the preheated pan. Cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through. Transfer the cooked french toast to a plate.
- Here's where the spice magic happens! Top your french toast with a generous dollop of Homiah Sambal Chili Crunch. And drizzle maple syrup (or honey!) for the perfect sweet and spicy bite.
